What People are Saying About THE CHARMING YOUNGSTERS:

"The Charming Youngsters put on the most frenetic show I've ever seen. I have no idea what it is, but I can't escape feeling like they're what the Foo Fighters should have been. Twice as fun, thrice as witty... an absolutely real band and not something grown in a vat somewhere. They have all the snap, they're funny without spilling into cheese territory, and they FUCKING ROCK." - Corbie Hill, Battle Rockets/Where the Buffalo Roamed

"Nolan has a voice that teeters and totters and expresses earnestly the heart of his songs. With a fragile, yet comfortable stage presence, Nolan draws you into his world and filters out the negativity allowing a spirited optimism to spew forth. Breathe it in because it's a wonderful and uplifting thing. Music that leaves a warmth in your soul, a tap in your toes, and a comfort in your head (knowing someone can make sense of this crazy world for at least a few minutes)." - Jeff Blinder, The Spazzatorium Galleria

"Truth be told, this collection [Ran Merrily After] of demos, ideas, and lovelies showcases more than a year of recording experimentation and learning, all made completely from scratch. What has resulted is a sheer masterpiece of bedroom recording - masterful lyricism and sickeningly genius songwriting... These moments are magical, beautiful, sensual snippets of our lives looked at from between the cracks. They are kaleidoscopes in summer, snowball fights in winter, and nuclear bomb blasts in the spring." - Randy Cochran, Beatnik Vending Machine

What THE CHARMING YOUNGSTERS are Saying About THE CHARMING YOUNGSTERS:
Hey. Remember that movie Bill and Ted, when Bill and Ted travel to the future and they find out their garage band has become, like, the official band of the country and that their music brings, like, peace and happiness to all who live. Yeah... that's going to be us. - The Charming Youngsters

What THE CHARMING YOUNGSTERS are Saying About METALLICA:

"I was reading past newsletters and I noticed no one had posted a review of the Die, Die My Darling single, so here's what I have to say about it. The single cover is the boys dressed up in their Metallicats outfits, smiling and looking cool. Its kinda funny considering the name of the song. I got a chuckle out of it. The first track is of course, Die, Die My Darling which has always been one of my favorite Garage, Inc. tracks. Then the next song (following suit of other Garage, Inc singles) is a live track from the Hammerstien Ballroom. That song is Sabbra Cadabra. It opens up with James talking about why they are playing the covers, and then he of course pays homage to Ozzy and "riff master" Tony Iommi. Then they launch into the great song. 3rd song, Mercyful Fate (which is also live), starts off with James asking the crowd if they are having fun. Then he starts to tell what the song is, but stops himself and says "Oh, ya'll all worship Satan right?". Then he procaims "Yeah, we're big friends with this band...they're called Mercyful Fate"..the crowd goes wild and the band goes into the powerful, eleven minute melody that is, in my opinion, the best of all the live covers. This is a great cd, and I recommend it highly just because of the two live songs, Die Die is ok, but we've all heard it on Garage, Inc. Buy it for the live tracks, buy it for Die, Die My Darling, dammit, just buy it!" - Nolan Smock in 1999
